Bryson City, NC has taken to YouTube to let everyone know that they’re open for business even tho the government isn’t.

I’m not going to harp on the production value here. Instead I’m going to point out that this is something anyone could do with their smartphone. I might even go so far as to say that maybe they could have polished this a bit less and it would have turned out better.

There are a few things to remember when making videos for the Internet:

  1. Keep it short – Two minutes is probably too long
  2. Be Interesting – 90% of the internet is lolcats. People remember quirky.
  3. Perfection isn’t required – Just go out and do it.

There’s probably many more rules you can find out there, but these, I think, are the essentials.
