Microsoft to Drop Support for Older Versions of Internet Explorer

Last week Engadget reported that Microsoft will drop support for old versions of Internet Explorer beginning in January of next year. This means no updates or tech support for anything other than the current version of IE.

Business customers that need legacy support for web apps can use IE 11’s Enterprise Mode for backwards compatibility.

Hopefully this will mean less hacking to support older browsers, but I know better than to be that optimistic. I know several people that are still running Windows XP, so there’s that.
