Forbes is reporting a warning about fake Apple support calls. Customers are advised to not answer phone calls from Apple Support unless they have requested one via Apple’s website. Apparently there has been an increase in phishing calls in an attempt to gain control over iCloud accounts. These calls spoof the Apple support phone numbers and appear to be legitimate.

From the Apple Website:

“Never share your Apple ID password or temporary verification codes with anyone. Apple will never ask you for this information to provide support. “

Apple Support: “Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus’ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams.”
